Fat Cats
by adam | November 2007
Contrary to what you might think, it’s not what you think! These are just cats. Not metaphoric cats elected to office and doomed to disappoint. And these cats are really, really fat. It seems like kind of a problem.

Water Water Everywhere…. “Water, water, everywhere,
And all the boards did shrink;
Water, water, everywhere,
Nor any drop to drink.”
- The Rime of the Ancient Mariner
Samuel Taylor Coleridge
An extended version of Bon Iver’s La Blogotheque Take Away Show of “For Emma, Forever Ago” with three versions of the song and some very startled tourists. I think this is one of my favorite things in the whole world. Not just that the song is so beautiful, and is so beautifully sung, but that [...]
So, This Stephen Malkmus-looking Guy Who Went to High School with My Boss Wrote a Children’s BookA man once said, “Childrens do learn.” and I believe childrens should learn to dream big dreams. Even better is to dream arty dreams like a hipster might draw. This hipster author’s name is Dallas Clayton. Although I do not know for sure that Dallas Clayton is a hipster, he looks like this: And, I [...]
Matilde UrrutiaIt isn’t simply that you are loved gloriously, or loved beautifully. But rather that a pitch perfect expression of love for you sounds and sounds, Rises into the very air. Though the love itself may fade, I do not know, The poetry you inspire ascends, ascending Becomes stars and you, who are so loved, Look [...]
I Left My Heart in Bon Iver“However, this was one of those shows that blows you quite away and I felt privileged to have gotten to witness it.”

For Those Still Intent on Citing Einstein in their Dogma[ Topic Politics, Etc., Religion ]
So while Richard Dawkins has done an excellent and admirable job of deflecting the oft-cited argument that Albert Einstein was a religious man, it seems we’re now fortunate enough to hear from the man himself more clearly than ever. In news straight from The Guardian UK, it seems a letter penned by Einstein in 1954 [...]
Our Venture Funding Finally Kicked In[ Topic Ridiculosity ]
“Our dedication to finding art and absurdity in the world around us has only gotten stronger.”
Jon Stewart + Bill Moyers[ Topic Politics ]
We’ll be the first to admit that we didn’t know Bill Moyers was even back on PBS, but nevertheless, it’s nice to see. By way of justification, for one of his first episodes, he’s done a really nice interview with Jon Stewart, which is amazingly candid and forthcoming in a way that’s almost impossible to [...]
My National Leadership Award[ Topic Politics, Ridiculosity ]
Due, I have no doubt, to my total awesomeness, this morning I was awarded the honor of being an Honorary Chairman of the Business Advisory Council. This dubious distinction has been annointed upon me by the National Republican Congressional Committee and my local congressman Tom Cole. How fucking awesome am I?Oh, wait. Tom Cole is [...]
Things Left Unsaid[ Topic Ridiculosity ]
Normally, I try very hard not to engage in idle speculation. I used to make assumptions about why someone was behaving a certain way, like if my friend seemed sullen, I believed he was mad at me, when in fact, his boss had been riding his ass all week. I’m sorting through a lot of [...]

I was kind of hoping this was going to be a web site with dozens of pictures of laughably fat cats. But alas, it is just actual “news”. Unlike the occasionally wry catsthatlooklikehitler.com
